The Cape Henlopen Lighthouse as it would have appeared in 1924, looking South from Cape Henlopen. Numerous attempts were made to preserve the dune upon which the lighthouse rested, but ultimately the 1,552 feet between the lighthouse's original position and the sea vanished.
