Abraxas offers latest painting, "Windansea"
The sun goes down and the winds pick up as the glow of the golden hour highlights the
shore of Southern California. Cape region artist Abraxas captures this in his latest
seascape painting of "Windansea" beach in La Jolla where the sea is constantly
shaping the sandstone along the coast. “It is quite a challenge to capture the warmth of
the sunset while shivering in the afternoon air,” says Abraxas who spent many days painting
on this beautiful beach. "Although less than twenty miles from the Mexican border, La
Jolla’s coast can be surprisingly chilly, and the water is frigid-even in the summer."
This painting done in oil is a result of Abraxas’ most recent travels to the West coast.
His plans of painting America’s seashores continue as he searches for the most beautiful
subjects near and far. "Windansea" is available as a limited edition print of 900
with an image size of 18" by 29" and will sell for $200. This print along with
Abraxas’ other works are available through local galleries as well as online at
www.AbraxasArt.com. Contact the artist for more information at (302) 645-9119.
